One of the greatest pleasures of golf is the satisfaction of seeing your handicap drop as your game improves. We have two phenomenal instructors in Martin Sludds and Chad Wiebelhaus who are eager to help you reach your potential on the golf course. We offer private lessons, as well as, group instruction for both adults and juniors, utilizing the latest video equipment. Additionally, we conduct clinics at various times of the year, which cover a wide variety of topics.

Chad Wiebelhaus is a PGA certified teaching professional. He is the Head Golf Professional here at The Thistle Golf Club. Chad has been teaching for 12 years and considers golf instruction, as a PGA Professional, the most rewarding and fulfilling aspect of my job.

Chad’s teaching philosophy is simple and direct. Through teaching the fundamentals of the golf swing he wants to improve his students ability to enjoy the game of golf and have a good time doing it! Instruction should be a fun and rewarding experience and Chad takes a lot of pride in creating a productive learning environment.

Martin Sludds


As a Class A+ member of the PGA since 1990, Martin has had the great pleasure of working alongside some of the worlds leading coaches, including John Jacobs, David Leadbetter, Hank Haney and Bob Torrance both as a player and as a swing coach. He has also worked with the credited sports psychologists Alan Fine and Harry Wallace. He believes in a multi faceted approach, meeting the individual needs of each pupil. He works with time proven fundamentals that have worked for golfers of all ages, builds and athletic abilities, enabling the body to work as it has naturally been made to function. Martin has run a golf column in newspapers and done TV work. He is also a certified club fitter.
